The Active Directory pane, located on the Home page of the Active Directory Web Interface, can be configured to display managed Active Directory domains or specific Active Directory objects. The latter option enables users to access objects located deeply in the Active Directory structure without access to the structure itself.
To configure the Home page for the Adaxes Web Interface:
Launch the Adaxes Web Interface Configuration Tool on the computer, where the Web Interface is installed.
Windows 7 and earlier:
Windows 8 and 8.1:
Windows 10:
In Interface type drop-down list, select the type of the Web Interface you want to customize and click the General tab.
Check Active Directory pane and click the Configure Active Directory Pane button.
In the Configure Active Directory Pane dialog that opens, select Show the following Active Directory objects.
Users will only see the AD objects they have permissions to view. |
To add an object to be displayed on the Active Directory pane, click Add on the right of the dialog, specify the DN (Distinguished Name) of the Active Directory object you want to add, and click OK.
To get the DN of an AD objects, right-click the object you need in the Adaxes Administration Console. In the context menu, open the submenu of the Copy item, and click Copy DN. The DN of the selected Active Directory object will be copied to the clipboard. |
The Active Directory pane can also display Business Units and Active Directory domains. You can get the DN of a Business Unit or managed Active Directory domain in the same way as you get DNs of AD objects. |
To organize AD objects in the Active Directory pane into groups, click the Add Group button located on the right, type a name for the group, and press Enter. To add an object to a group, select the group you need before adding the object to the Active Directory pane.
Groups and objects within a group are displayed according to their order in the list. To change the order of

When finished, click OK and then click Apply.
There is no need to restart IIS to apply the changes, as the changes are applied automatically. |
