Disallowing Specific Operations on AD Objects

To disable specific operations on AD objects in the Adaxes Web Interface:

  1. Launch the Adaxes Web Interface Configuration Tool on the computer, where the Web Interface is installed.

    How:

    Windows 7 and earlier:

    • Open the Windows Start menu.
    • Click All Programs > Softerra Adaxes 2017.1 > Web Interface > Web Interface Customization.

    Windows 8 and 8.1:

    • Open the Start screen.
    • Start typing Web Interface Customization.
    • Press Enter.

    Windows 10:

    • Open the Windows Start menu.
    • Click All apps > Softerra Adaxes 2017.1 > Web Interface Customization.
  2. In Interface type drop-down list, select the type of the Web Interface you want to customize and click the AD Management tab.

  3. Click the Customize Operations button.

  4. To completely disable an operation, uncheck it in the Operations list.

    The list of operations also contains Custom Commands. You can configure them the same way you configure other operations.
  5. To disable the operation for specific Web Interface components only, select the operation in the Operations list (don't uncheck) and check Customize how the selected operation is displayed in above.

    Specify where you want to disable the selected operation.

    • To disable the operation for AD object grids displayed when browsing AD or viewing search results, AD reports, etc., do the following:

      On the AD Object Grids tab, check the Web Interface component, for which you want to disable the selected operation. Select Don't display in the drop-down list.

      To move the selected command in the selected the Web Interface component to the Other menu, select Display in the Other menu in the drop-down list.
    • To disable the operation for the AD object views used to display and edit Active Directory objects, do the following:

      On the AD Object Views tab, check Don't display for the types of objects, for which you want to disable the selected operation.

      To move the selected command to the Other menu, check Display in the Other menu.
      In object views, only the operations located at the bottom of the page header can be placed under the Other menu.
  6. When finished, click OK.

  7. Click Apply.
