Selecting Object Types to be Displayed in UI

By default, the Adaxes Web Interface displays widely-used types of AD objects, such as users, groups, computers, and organizational units. However, you may want users not to see AD objects of specific types or see custom types of AD objects in addtion to those displayed by default.

To specify the types of Active Directory objects to be displayed in the Web Interface:

  1. Launch the Adaxes Web Interface Configuration Tool on the computer, where the Web Interface is installed.

    How:

    Windows 7 and earlier:

    • Open the Windows Start menu.
    • Click All Programs > Softerra Adaxes 2017.1 > Web Interface > Web Interface Customization.

    Windows 8 and 8.1:

    • Open the Start screen.
    • Start typing Web Interface Customization.
    • Press Enter.

    Windows 10:

    • Open the Windows Start menu.
    • Click All apps > Softerra Adaxes 2017.1 > Web Interface Customization.
  2. In Interface type drop-down list, select the type of the Web Interface you want to customize.

  3. Select the AD Browsing tab and click Configure Object Types.

  4. In the dialog that opens, check the object types you need in the list located in the AD Object Grid group box.

    Select the Show all object types option to view all object types defined in the Active Directory schema.
  5. To select the object types to be displayed in the Browse drop-down dialog located on the Navigation Bar, check the object types you need in the list located in the Browse Dialog group box.

    Select the Show all object types option to view all object types defined in the Active Directory schema.
  6. When finished, click OK and then click Apply.
