Creating Groups

To create a new group:

    -or-

Click Browse above the list of managed domains and select the location for the new group.

  4. Click Group link below the top navigational menu.

  5. At the Create New Group page that opens, type the name of the new group in the Group Name field.

By default, the Group Name (pre-Windows 2000) is generated automatically by a built-in Property Pattern, but you can modify the generated value the way you need.

  6. Type optional group description.

  7. Define the group scope: Domain Local Group, Global Group or Universal Group.

  8. Select the group type: Security Group or Distribution Group.

If the domain, you selected to create the group in, is set to the domain functional level of Windows 2000 mixed, you can specify the Security group type with the scope of Domain Local or Global only.

  9. To enter additional information, click Specify more information.

  10. Click Save.
